Manufacturing Director at Dart in Leola, PA
The Manufacturing Director will lead, direct and coordinate activities, while having overall responsibility for manufacturing operations in our Leola, PA and Lancaster, PA facilities. As a key member of our senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President and matrixed to Plant Managers and Peers, you will collaborate with multiple teams across the business. What this exciting opportunity is all about Establish an environment in assigned plants conducive to support maximum efficiencies and quality in a safe workplace. Accountable for plant efficiency and quality results. Train, develop and provide support to plant leadership team, and other key support staff. Assist plant leadership with the development of problem-solving action plans, and oversight of timely plan implementation. Coordinate economic evaluations of plant specific capital expenditure proposals, including production space, production equipment, warehouse space, availability of utilities, etc., and communication of resources requirements, with justification, to management. Complete special plant related projects, as assigned In addition to your knowledge and technical expertise, we are looking for your leadership skills to enable and encourage strong cross-functional collaboration between the broader organization. Your leadership will proactively help identify areas of opportunity to add value for Dart and our customers. Core Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Engineering or another manufacturing-related field with seven (7) years of plant/facility manager experience in a large manufacturing environment or experience providing support to multiple facilities Demonstrated project management experience Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidance Displays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachable Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas, approaches and solutions Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Independent judgement and decision-making skills required Ability to understand a high degree of mathematical theory Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint Ability to use mental ability to respond to issues of a complex nature such as problem solving, prioritizing critical projects and multi-tasking in a frequent basis Ability to work a flexible schedule to provide senior leadership guidance to the 24 hour/7day operation Ability to travel up to 15% of the time domestically Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire Preferred Bachelor's degree SAP experience Experience managing multi-shift or continuous operations Paper converting, chemical or plastics processing, or packaging industrial experience Lean manufacturing experience Director experience Overview:
