Plant Manager

Directly responsible for all Company assets, employees, and business results at the manufacturing plant and the local distribution center. Leads the development and execution of the plant's Action Plan with the plant and distribution center leadership teams.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Leads the organization to develop/reapply and implement systems, equipment and work processes that deliver desired safety, product quality, customer service and cost outcomes.

  • Represents the plant to Production Planning. Has primary responsibility for plant capacity utilization, setting and delivering production commitments.

  • Ensures the plant is efficiently staffed and capable to safely operate.

  • Ensures Company sponsored professional growth and development opportunities for plant personnel (including job specific training and career planning) occur. Ensures effective annual performance reviews are completed for all plant personnel on a timely basis.

  • Coaches and develops management level personnel. Personally conducts effective annual and on-going performance and career discussions with direct reporting staff. Provides on-going performance feedback and coaching to the total organization.

  • Ensures daily, weekly and monthly results review processes are in place and functional.

  • Leads the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) and the plant's Action Plan development process. Conducts regular, scheduled reviews with the PLT to assess progress, analyze problems and facilitate solutions, identify resources required and adjust plans as needed.

  • Ensures all operations meet or exceed all applicable standards and regulations for safety, environmental control and regulatory compliance.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Ability to work weekends as needed

  • Requires one of the following:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business

    • Ten (10) years of progressive technical/production management experience that demonstrates increasing skills and level of responsibilities

  • Seven (7) years of manufacturing operations management/leadership assignments demonstrating a progression of increased scope and responsibility

  • Five (5) years of experience managing department managers in various functional areas

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • Experience and proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software

  • Knowledge of mechanical principles and higher level mathematical theory

  • Effective communications at all levels - both written and oral to promote team building and excellent employee relations

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Chemical or plastics processing and packaging industrial experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
