Human Resource Generalist

DAY-TO DAY ROLE:



  • Provide a wide range of human resources functions to support the plant/facility including but not limited to recruiting and selection, employee relations, benefit and leave of absence administration, workers compensation, discipline and terminations.

  • Serve as the Human Resources point of contact for assigned departments, including participation in leadership initiatives and monthly safety meetings.

  • Coordinate recruiting efforts in a manner consistent with legal guidelines and within the Affirmative Action Plan.

  • Coordinate and administer worker's compensation process, in collaboration with company worker's compensation representative.  Including but not limited to accident investigations, communicating with employees that have workers' compensation claims and ensuring that workers compensation is administered lawfully in connection with FMLA and ADA policies and procedures.

  • Administer general employment practices including interview process, disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Participate in workforce development including community involvement, training programs, and career opportunities.

  • Support the local leadership team in achieving goals and administering effective human resources practices.

  • Maintain fair and equal treatment of all candidates or employees with regard to all aspects of employment regardless of any protected characteristics.

  • Maintains working knowledge of corporate compensation and benefit plans, as well as health, safety, and security issues in the workplace.

  • Comply with Dart Container's policies and procedures.

  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.



 


 


CORE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and four (4) years of HR Generalist experience; or a combination of education and experience.

  • Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office; including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Ability to verbally communicate routine job-related processes.


 


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:



  • Experience with applicant tracking software and HRIS systems.

  • Experience with managing workers compensation.

  • HR experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • PHR/SPHR certification.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
